Materials & Construction
Each CNG composite cylinder features a seamless aluminium liner fully wrapped with high-strength fiberglass or carbon fiber reinforced with epoxy resin. This construction results in fiberglass CNG cylinders or carbon fiber CNG cylinders that offer superior mechanical strength, high-pressure resistance, and excellent corrosion protection.
The Type 2 CNG composite cylinder is designed to safely store natural gas at pressures of 20 MPa or 25 MPa. It is manufactured using a 4130X seamless steel tube and complies with international standards including ISO 9809-1, ISO 9809-3, EN, and DOT. These cylinders are classified as high-pressure vessels for flammable and explosive gases, with automotive applications typically requiring a storage pressure of 20 MPa.
