Cryogenic tank for LO2,LN2,LAr
A cryogenic tank is a specialized pressure vessel designed to store liquefied gases at extremely low temperatures. Typical cryogenic liquids include nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium, and hydrogen.
Since 2004, DSW has supplied more than 200 cryogenic tanks for scientific, industrial, and medical applications. In addition to standard designs, DSW offers customized solutions tailored to specific operational requirements, ensuring optimal performance and long-term reliability.
Liquefied gases are widely used in metal processing, medical technology, electronics, water treatment, energy generation, and food processing. Increasingly, industrial gas users receive cryogenic liquids directly at their facilities for on-site storage and future consumption.

Types of Cryogenic Storage Tanks
LAr Cryogenic Tank
An LAr cryogenic tank is a vertical or horizontal double-walled, vacuum-insulated storage vessel designed for liquid argon or similar cryogenic media. The insulation system minimizes heat ingress and reduces evaporation losses during long-term storage.
LN₂ Cryogenic Tank
Liquid nitrogen tanks are used in industrial processing, laboratories, and biological storage. Liquid nitrogen has a boiling point of −196°C (−320°F), requiring highly efficient insulation and precise pressure control, even in cold ambient conditions.
LOX Cryogenic Tank
LOX cryogenic tanks are designed with strict safety considerations due to oxygen’s strong oxidizing properties. Horizontal and vertical configurations are available to meet different site layouts and operational needs.
STORAGE VESSEL COMPONENTS
Different gauges and valves are required to monitor and stabilize the cryogenic vessel, and these gauges have a precise measuring capability. Otherwise, the smallest change in the pressure variations can lead to trouble. Hence, the different parameters of the vessel are continuously monitored. The other gauges and valves which are used in the cryogenic vessel are the evaporator, liquid container gauge, vacuum bursting disk, vent valve, pressure building valve, pressure building coil, pressure relief valve, Pressure gauge, inner container bursting disk, liquid fill and withdrawal valve, economic regulator, vent valve..e.t.c
Customization Options
Cryogenic tank vessels come in a variety of sizes and configurations to meet the specific needs of different industries.
Some tanks are designed for stationary use, while others are built for transport on trucks or ships.
Customization options can include modifications to pressure ratings, insulation types, and valve systems to ensure compatibility with unique operational requirements.
Compliance and Standards
Cryogenic tanks must adhere to strict safety and regulatory standards, including those set by organizations like the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
These standards ensure that the tanks are built to handle the extreme conditions associated with cryogenic storage and transportation, providing peace of mind to manufacturers and end-users.
Manufacturing Expertise
DSW has extensive experience in mechanical manufacturing and is equipped with advanced production equipment and professionally trained senior technicians. All storage tanks are designed, manufactured, and tested in accordance with ASTM, ISO, and relevant pressure vessel safety regulations.
Applications
Healthcare and Medical Gas Storage
In healthcare environments, LOX cryogenic tanks are used to store medical-grade liquid oxygen, ensuring a stable and continuous oxygen supply for hospitals, clinics, and emergency systems.
Energy and LNG Infrastructure
LNG cryogenic tanks play a vital role in the energy sector by enabling safe storage and transportation of liquefied natural gas. These tanks support LNG terminals, satellite stations, industrial fuel supply, and distributed energy systems.
Industrial and High-Purity Applications
LAr and LN₂ cryogenic tanks are commonly used in welding, metal processing, electronics manufacturing, laboratories, and semiconductor production, where high-purity gases and precise temperature control are essential.
Quality Warranty and Service Life
DSW provides a one-year warranty starting from the date of shipment. During this period, any manufacturing defects confirmed to be the responsibility of DSW will be supported with replacement spare parts.
With proper installation, operation, and maintenance, cryogenic storage tanks typically achieve a service life of 15 to 20 years.
